TRAINING OBJECTIVES

To maximise the chance of success and minimise the risk of injury it is important that the Polar Quest and Polar Watch teams are prepared to meet the demands and challenges of polar travel.
The training objectives are:

  • To provide all members of the expedition with an appropriate level of awareness of the safety procedures that are to be employed.
  • To develop and enhance the specialist skills associated with a polar travel.
  • To provide and increase specialist skills of the individual members’ particular sphere of responsibility i.e. signals, medical, photography.
